2020 Sauvignon Blanc

Sauvignon Blanc 2020

Our delicious Sauvignon Blanc comes from two vineyards – San Saba Vineyards (66%) in Monterey and Triolo Vineyard (34%) in Gilroy. Each is meticulously farmed to produce the best grapes possible. Combining a cool weather vineyard with a warm weather vineyard allows us to get more complexity in the wine. Delicious aromas of white peach, gooseberry, grass and lime are accented by hints of vanilla oak spice from once used white barrels. The bright acidity in the mouth is rounded by viscosity from sur lee oak aging followed by flavors of lime, grapefruit and oak spice in the mouth. This wine is viscous yet has a good acid backbone to stand up to food. Share this wine on beautifully warm days with some fruit, cheese and your good friends.

2017 Tess’ Blend

The 2017 growing season started early with a heat wave over Labor Day in the Santa Clara Valley but then leveled out for lots of flavor and hang time. Our Tess’ Blend is made to represent the best the Verde Vineyard has to offer and is made to drink now, but will last years in your cellar.

This elegant and luscious wine starts with lots of blueberry and currant fruit followed by savory oak and leather from the vineyards. Let it sit in your glass and the secondary aromas of cedar, ripe cherry and orange peel show up. Those flavors carry over into the mouth where firm, yet silky, full mouth tannins take over. The finish lingers on the pallet with blackberry and tar that lasts forever.

This wine drinks well now, but is made to age for years to come. Drink with ribeye steaks when you and filet mignon when it has some age.
