2022 Meg’s Pinot Noir

Our delicious Pinot Noir comes from grapes grown at the foothills of the Santa Lucia Highlands in Monterey County. They meticulously farm this vineyard to maximize quality.. The 2022 vintage was challenging in California starting with a two week plus heat wave with temperatures above 110 F. However, the grapes for this wine come from a cooler climate and they survived the heat beautifully. The delicious wine balances fruit and earthy aromas perfectly. Notes of plum, cherry and wet earth jump out of the glass followed by cinnamon and brown sugar from the new oak. In the mouth there are juicy tannins and medium acidity to welcome the flavors of plum, cherry and barrel spice. This is a wine that BBQ wants.

2022 Sangiovese

Our Sangiovese was grown in a new vineyard next to our winery on the eastern side of the Santa Clara Valley just east of Gilroy, where it is carefully tended by George and Lynda Green. They meticulously farm their vineyard to maximize quality. The 2022 growing season was challenging starting with a two week plus heat wave with temperatures above 110 F. That was followed by weeks of below normal temperatures giving the vines a chance to recover.

Smoky cherry, dried herbs and cranberry aromas open this wine followed by juicy, yet firm tannins in the mouth along with flavors of rhubarb and blackberries. Serve with steak Florentine.

2022 Estate Malbec

2022 Malbec

This impressive Malbec was grown in a new vineyard on the eastern side of the Santa Clara Valley just east of Gilroy and is carefully tended by George and Lynda Green. They meticulously farm this vineyard to maximize quality. The 2022 growing season was challenging starting with a two week plus heat wave with temperatures above 110 F. That was followed by weeks of below normal temperatures giving the vines a chance to recover.

Ripe boysenberry and vanilla and toasty oak lead off the aromas followed by jammy, mid-palette tannins in the mouth combined with good acidity, sweet tobacco and blackberry flavors. Pair with a nice rack of lamb chops.

2022 Chardonnay

Our delicious Chardonnay comes from grapes grown at the foothills of the Santa Lucia Highlands in Monterey County. They meticulously farm this vineyard to maximize quality. The 2022 growing season in the Monterey area was stellar – warm during the day, cool at night, allowing for a long hang time on the vine. The beautiful straw color of this decadent, yet focused wine starts with hints of green apple with apricot and ripe peach following. The rich creamy texture has notes of buttered popcorn with a finish that is rich & full with toasted oak notes.

Drink this with grilled fish in the summer or Dungeness crab with clarified butter in the fall or winter.

2019 Tess’ Blend

2018 Tess' Estate Blend

This impressive Bordeaux Blend was grown in a new vineyard on the eastern side of the Santa Clara Valley just east of Gilroy and is carefully tended by George and Lynda Green. They meticulously farm this vineyard to maximize quality. The 2019 growing season was nearly ideal the Santa Clara Valley allowing for a long hang time on the vine. Tess’ Blend is made to represent the best the Verde Vineyard has to offer and is made to drink now but will last years in your cellar.

This wine is defined by its elegance in both aromas and mouthfeel. Dark blackberry and cherry compote fruit along with dried herb and violet notes are framed by leather, vanilla, allspice and sweet tobacco. The big, silky tannins call out for food to be eaten with this wine.

This wine drinks well now, but is made to age for years to come. Drink with ribeye steaks when you and filet mignon when it has some age.

2020 George’s Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon

We are excited for the second release of our new George’s (GG) Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon. The grapes were grown in a new vineyard next to our winery on the eastern side of the Santa Clara Valley just east of Gilroy and is carefully tended by George and Lynda Green. They meticulously farm their vineyard to maximize quality. The 2020 growing season was outstanding the Santa Clara Valley allowing for a balanced crop with long hang time on the vine, giving intense and complex flavors. This wine is Gregarious and Gargantuan on the palette. The Gratuitous and Gleaming blackberry and cherry fruit aromas are Glorious and Gleefully mouth filling. The Gloating and Galivanting tannins are Gorgeous and Genuine as they Gracefully frame the Gracious and Groovy oak flavors.

2020 Estate Dornfelder

We are excited for the second release of our Estate Dornfelder. This unique varietal was developed in Germany in 1955 and was grown in a new vineyard next to our winery on the eastern side of the Santa Clara Valley just east of Gilroy and is carefully tended by George and Lynda Green. They meticulously farm their vineyard to maximize quality. The 2020 growing season was outstanding the Santa Clara Valley allowing for a large crop with long hang time on the vine, giving intense and complex flavors. This velvety textured, dark colored wine has boysenberry syrup and floral aromas in the nose. The silky tannins combine with blueberry flavors and a toasted coconut finish.

Enjoy this wine with some roasted pork loin.

2023 Sauvignon Blanc

2023 Sauvignon Blanc

Our delicious Sauvignon Blanc comes from grapes grown at the foothills of the Santa Lucia Highlands in Monterey County. They meticulously farm this vineyard to maximize quality. The 2023 vintage was challenging starting with a two week plus heat wave with temperatures above 110 F. However, this wine comes from Monterrey and was buffered by the cool breeze from Monterey Bay.

Citrus, honeydew melon and apple fruits in the nose are complimented by toasty vanilla oak and a slight grassiness. The bright acidity in the mouth is rounded by viscosity from sur lee oak aging followed by flavors of lime, grapefruit and oak spice in the mouth. This wine is viscous yet has a good acid backbone to stand up to food. Share this wine on beautifully warm days with some fruit, cheese and your good friends.

Watermelon and orange blossom aromas are complimented with cherry, raspberry and strawberry fruit. This light, crisp wine is perfect for hot summer evenings. Pair with a grilled pork chop with cherry compote or just enjoy by itself

2023 Gewurztraminer

Our delicious new Gewurztraminer comes from Salinas Land Company/Rick’s Vineyard which is meticulously farmed to produce the best grapes possible. The 2022 vintage was challenging starting with a two week plus heat wave with temperatures above 110 F. However, this wine comes from Monterey and was buffered by the cool breeze from Monterey Bay. This wine has lovely aromas of peach, nectarine, pineapple and baking spices, fig and dried fruit. A hint of residual sugar balances the acidity and allows the juicy fruit flavors to bounce around your mouth. Pair with a light fish dish or some lovely cow’s milk cheese.
