The 2018 growing season was outstanding the Santa Clara Valley allowing for a large crop with long hang time on the vine, giving intense and complex flavors. Concentrated and crisp, fresh blueberry is the first aroma you smell, complimented by vanilla, graham cracker and toasty oak nuances. The mouthfeel is substantial, but silky at the same time with lots of dark fruit and oak flavors in the long finish.
2017 Estate Merlot
The 2017 growing season started early with a heat wave over Labor Day in the Santa Clara Valley but then leveled out for lots of flavor and hang time This wine has blueberry syrup fruit framed with vanilla, cocoa, black pepper and baking spices. Juicy red fruit and soft tannins frame umami flavors in a long finish. This wine drinks well now and pairs wonderfully with pork loin topped with a cherry compote.
